A lesbian couple accused an Uber driver in New York City of kicking them out of his vehicle after they kissed in the backseat. Transport for London says it won't renew a license for Uber to operate in the British capital. "I would be nervous I think to kiss Emma again in an Uber", Iovine said.

The shocking incident occurred in New York, USA, after the couple ordered the Uber to take them from a friend's birthday party in Brooklyn to another party at around 5pm.

A lesbian couple claimed they were kicked out of their Uber by their driver on Saturday after sharing a quick kiss in the backseat of the vehicle.

"The middle seat was open. At one point we leaned over and peck-kissed, very fast". "That's genuinely all it was".

Iovine said her reaction to the ordeal quickly went from shock to anger. "But that's not what was going on here".

The women initially thought the man was joking, but once they realized he wasn't they began recording the incident, the Daily Mail reports.

In video posted to Iovine's Facebook page, you hear the women asking the driver, "What's the issue?"

"It's disrespectful", the driver replied. "You don't do that".

"It's not illegal to kiss in NY", one of the women told El Boutari.

The women then responded by stating that kissing isn't illegal. "You don't do that here in the vehicle".

El Boutari had over 4,000 fares and positive ratings. Multiple attempts by CNN to reach el Boutari were unsuccessful.

She was eventually rescued by firefighters who had to use a power saw to get her free according to WCCO TV . Video posted to Facebook shows the woman sitting on the ground as emergency services attempt to free her.

They say Ahmad El Boutari forced them out.

He told the Daily News that he "didn't feel comfortable" with the women, who he added were playing loud videos on their phones and exhibiting other behavior he found inappropriate. Additionally, he added that "It's my own vehicle".

Iovine told the Daily News they didn't behave inappropriately.

"He started yelling at us that we were disrespectful and inappropriate and that he wants us out of his auto", said Pichl. CNN reached out to the couple about el Boutari's claims. Both Uber and TLC are investigating the incident. The couple was charged the full $22 for the ride.

Fromberg noted that the city does not regulate behaviour in Uber cars and similar services, but he called what the driver did to the women "an unacceptable and repugnant act that will not be tolerated".

"Uber does not tolerate any form of discrimination", she said.

Uber's CEO Dara Khosrowshahi told the NY Post that he believes drivers like the one seen in the video "don't belong on Uber".

Iovine presses him to explain, asking: "Why are we not allowed to kiss in an Uber?" "It's an unfortunate circumstance and we will do everything we can for that not to repeat".

"We kind of keep to ourselves".

Just five minutes after that, Pichl said the driver "pulled the cab over and said: 'You should not do that... do not do that'".
