Former head of Cambridge Analytica to testify | AP business

Privacy litigation against Facebook Inc. over sharing data with political data firm Cambridge Analytica Ltd. has been consolidated in the U.S. District Court in San Francisco.

Nix claims the data has since been deleted; he also claims that the company's whistleblower Christopher Wylie is lying about Cambridge Analytica's role in the European Union referendum campaign.

He also denied a story in the Financial Times that said he withdrew $8 million from Cambridge Analytica before its collapse last month.

In a heated encounter with the Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee, Nix told MPs: "If you were sitting where I am right now you'd probably feel quite victimised".

Alexander Nix was suspended as CEO by Cambridge Analytica in March with "immediate effect" after he was caught on camera in a Channel Four sting operation, boasting of dirty tactics to discredit politicians online.

The boss of Cambridge Analytica Alexander Nix has come out all guns blazing as he claimed the company was the victim of a "concerted campaign" by the "global liberal media".

Despite the negative sentiment among consumers, however, there is little evidence of sites such as Facebook suffering significant damage from the data misuse revelations - either financially or in terms of user base. Facebook data was used by the British firm as part of its work, he said.

Nix apologized for his comments in the film, saying he had been foolish and had made exaggerated claims in order to attract what he thought was a potential client.

He said: "I wasn't aware of it, I didn't know that Britanny Kaiser had been to the embassy".

Nix said that Channel 4 had heavily edited the footage to portray him in a worse light.

"The Government of India is deeply concerned about reports of such lapses/ violations", the statement said.

He replied: "I don't know that I was unlucky I think other business meetings are not steered by an undercover reporter who is deliberately trying to entrap you and therefore the conversation never moves into those areas and towards those subject matters".

Christopher Wylie, the whistleblower who exposed the relations between Cambridge Analytica and the data firms was, he warned, spreading a damaging and misleading conspiracy theory. Nix accepts the role of Cambridge Analytica in the Trump campaign but not in the Leave campaign. Channel 4 says the documentary conveyed all of Mr.
