The drugmaker on Tuesday said the physician sample packs of Taytulla were meant to have 24 active pink pills, followed by four inactive maroon capsules, taken daily for 28 days.

The physician sample pack should have 24 pink capsules with hormones followed by four maroon capsules without hormones, Allergan said.

"Given the nature of the issue, controls and inspections in place on the packaging line, the recall is limited to one lot of Taytulla".

Consumers who have the sample pack product with the associated lot number should notify their physician to arrange a return. Allergan provided a chart, below, outlining the pill packs in question.

On Tuesday (May 29), the pharmaceutical company Allergan announced it was recalling 168,768 packs of Taytulla, a hormonal birth control pill that contains estrogen and progestin. Instead, the faulty pack had four maroon placebos at the start of the treatment.

This sent Madrid fans insane , with many asking where Ronaldo was - but the answer has not taken long to arrive. But Bale has also been linked with a move to his former side Tottenham this summer.

The side-by-side photo shows incorrectly and correctly packaged Taytulla birth control pills. Reversing the order may not be evident to new or previous users, which can further increase the chance of taking the capsules out of sequence.

The sample packs have been in circulation nationwide since August. The company learned about the error after one physician reported it.

Patients who are concerned they may have been impacted by the error should contact their doctor, the FDA wrote.

On Monday, Allergan's stock closed down 1.91 percent.
