With an announcement seemingly imminent, officials at the Departments of State and Treasury referred queries back to the White House, while others indicated a Monday announcement was now unlikely.

"You will see that Russian sanctions will be coming down", she said.

"First of all the president made it very clear we can not have chemical weapons usage anywhere, and we will continue to combat that in any way we need to protect American interests", Nikki Haley told CBS News' "Face the Nation".

The U.S.is not looking for war, said Haley.

She added that Russian Federation is feeling the effects of United States actions including "the sanctions that are continuing to happen, which you'll see again on Monday".

At the time, she said that USA would announce on Monday, sanctions on Russian companies behind the equipment related to Syria's Assad's chemical weapons attack. And they will go directly to any sort of companies that were dealing with equipment related to Assad and chemical weapons used.

March Retail Sales Rose 4.5% YOY
The results underscore that the declines from December to February were more of a pause following a post-hurricane spending binge. Gas station receipts fell by 0.3 percent in March - the largest drop since July - largely due to cheaper gasoline.

"If you look at what Russian Federation is doing, they continue to be involved with all the wrong actors, whether their involvement in Ukraine, whether you look at how they are supporting Venezuela, whether you look in Syria and their way of propping up Assad and working with Iran, that continues to be a problem", Haley said, adding that the use of a poisoning agent against a spy in England is "another issue".

"Again, he feels like it's better for the world if they have a good relationship", she explained. "We've been very clear, in our actions, what we expect, and we hope that they'll have a change in their behaviour".

However, the White House said Mr Trump still wants U.S. forces to withdraw from the region as soon as possible.

"We're still committed to defeating ISIS", Sanders said on Monday. "But the president wants to bring those people home, and that hasn't shifted". "The worldwide community will not allow chemical weapons to come back into our everyday life".

Haley made clear the United States won't be pulling troops out of Syria right away, saying US involvement there "is not done".

"We're not going to leave until we know we've accomplished those things", she said.
