Teachers in Colorado are joining those from other states in asking for more money for schools.

On Monday, April 16, hundreds of teachers across Colorado will leave their classrooms to march at the State Capitol for education reform. And the presence of teachers at the Capitol isn't over as some schools have pledged to send delegates this week.

The rally is organized by the Colorado Education Association, the state's largest teacher's union. "Our school board has consistently shown strong support for students, programs, and teachers", she said.

Kevin Lee, headteacher at Moorlands, said: "At Moorlands, we are committed to developing a love of reading amongst our children".

"We as a district need to work with our teachers to keep the advocacy conversation going with our representatives and senators", Towne said. "They don't want to be disrupting education, or to be viewed as being harmful to the students or anything". "We're saying if that active killer is actively coming into that room and they kick the door in, stop that threat", Mallory said.

"We put it out there for people who can come after school to attend, but honestly we've gotten responses from many of our educators that they'll be going to their second job after school", Baca-Oehlert said.

High school physics teacher Craig Hoxie filed to run for Oklahoma's House of Representatives on Friday, a day after the end of a two-week teacher walkout that had pressed lawmakers for school funding. The time for change is now, but the sheer magnitude of the situation makes it clear there will not be a quick fix.

Of all degrees conferred in 2016-17 from public colleges and universities, 7 percent of bachelor's degrees and 8 percent of associate degrees were awarded to students who identified as Hispanic. We know that they need counseling. "This about you all, kids all over the state", he said.

Selected from Oklahoma were Debra Deskin, a gifted and talented program teacher at Orvis Risner and Charles Haskell in Edmond, and Michelle Spurgin, first-grade teacher at Mark Twain Elementary in Duncan.
