"The general ones are left to take petty rides where they hardly make any money", Ravi Rathod, vice president of Sarvodaya Drivers Association of Delhi told Express.According to Rathod, as many as 5,000 drivers from different parts of the country will join the protest with over 2,000 protestors affiliated to Ola and Uber.

In business model B, the driver pays a minimal amount between Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000 to Ola, and Uber, and then gets a new vehicle which is owned by the company. The maximum users of Ola and Uber cabs are college-goers, officer-goers.

Later in the day, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Nitin Nandgaonkar breaks the windshield of a taxi which was plying in the city.

Another concern among cab drivers is that cab aggregators give preference to cabs owned the company over driver-owned cabs.

As reported in Times of India, Sanjay Naik of Maharashtra Navnirman Vahatuk Sena, has threatened that if any cab is found on the road then they will request driver with folded hands. "If he does not listen, we may handle the issue MNS-style", he stated in media reports.

Other taxi unions, including the Mumbai Taximen's Union, have extended support to the strike called by Maharashtra Navnirman Vahatuk Sena.

The strike will be launched simultaneously in big cities like Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Bengalaru, Hyderabad among others.

Uber, Ola drivers threaten indefinite strike from Sunday. The notices were issued under Section 149 of the Criminal Procedure Code to prevent unlawful assembly. Pandit Thorat, senior inspector of Andheri police station said that in case of violation of any order, actionshall be taken against them.

Now, the drivers who own their own vehicles, are alleging that Uber and Ola are partial towards the drivers who have bought the vehicles from them, and they are being given more bookings compared to them. The Ola and Uber driver announced the strike on March 16 against low payments as the Ola and Uber drivers are unable to cover their costs due to low business.

In Mumbai alone there are over 45,000 cabs on these aggregators but due to the slump in business there has been a fall of 20 per cent in the number of cabs running on these platforms in the city.
