Gerard Pique has extended his stay at Barcelona through to 2022 with the penning of a new contract at Camp Nou. His buyout clause has been set at 500 million euros.

The Spain worldwide joined the Catalan giants from Manchester United in 2008 and has gone on to make over 250 appearances for the La Liga giants during his 10 years in the city.

The Spain global has featured 422 times for the Catalan giants since returning in 2008, winning six La Liga titles and three Champions Leagues in that time.

A total of 25 trophies have been won by the Spanish centre-back since being brought back to Catalonia a decade ago.

The 30-year-old Spain global, who moved to the LaLiga leaders from Manchester United 10 years ago, has committed his future to the 24-time Spanish champions - with a buyout clause of 500 million euros (£441.6m).
