The NFL is investigating the process in which the Oakland Raiders hired new head coach, Jon Gruden and whether the team violated the Rooney Rule, league spokesman Brian McCarthy confirmed.

This will not be Cable's first rodeo with the Raiders.

That's a line you've already heard this offseason, as Oakland announced that Jon Gruden will lead the Raiders next year after the franchise fired head coach Jack Del Rio following a 6-10 season.

The Oakland Raiders have added Tom Cable to their coaching staff, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

It also accuses the USA of using a trade-panel voting system that's biased against foreigners. Brian Higgins of Buffalo and Elise Stefanik of Essex County are teaming up to oppose a U.S.

Oakland went just 17-27 under Cable's direction, and he was sacked after his third season.

Cable's previous run with the Raiders was one that came to an end ingloriously as he was accused by three separate women of abuse, sued by one (with the Raiders being named as a co-defendant), broke an assistant coach's jaw and was ultimately lambasted after his firing by late owner Al Davis. Gruden succeeded Jack Del Rio, who was sacked following a season-ending loss to the Los Angeles Chargers that capped a disappointing 6-10 campaign for the Raiders. He also worked extensively with Marshawn Lynch during the rusher's salad days in Seattle.

Seattle also fired offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell last week.

Offensive line coach was a top priority as Gruden built a staff. Cable is known for using a zone blocking scheme, though it remains uncertain what he'll use in Oakland with a powerful, expensive offensive front locked in place save the right tackle spot.
