Lisa Clough, a spokeswoman for the hospital, confirmed the incident happened Tuesday.

"This woman was placed in the city of Baltimore, in the dead of night, in the cold, vulnerable, exposed", he said.

Addressing the medical center directly, Baraka said, "You can do better". You must do better'.

The nearly six-minute video, which was posted on social media and quickly went viral, opens with Baraka talking to four security guards who are seen pushing an empty wheelchair back toward the University of Maryland Medical Center after leaving a woman at the bus shelter on Wednesday night.

The union that represents hospital workers, including University of Maryland's midtown campus, said that hospital workers sometimes have to manage a delicate balance of providing good care while protecting their workers. She had been missing 10 days, Baraka said the woman's mom told him.

Baraka was able to contact the woman's mother, who told him her daughter was 22-years-old.

In the second video, he is heard off camera trying to comfort the woman and trying to get her to sit down on the bench at a bus stop.

Baraka emphasized how he felt the hospital and ambulance personnel acted irresponsibly in regards to her situation.

Yes kids does it get any more tragic?

The University of Maryland Medical Center Midtown Campus has since verified the video and responded they are "investigating".

People who watched the video wondered what happened to the woman once she was taken back by the hospital, but a spokesman said they could not reveal that as "patient privacy regulations restrict us from providing any details". "This unfortunate event is not representative of our patient-centered mission". For this, we are truly sorry'.

Generally speaking, it's considered medically irresponsible to discharge a woman from a hospital with nothing but a hospital gown on for protection, especially when it's almost freezing outside. Never mind her rights to sanctity, assistance and compassion.

"We do not believe what happened defines who we are as an organization", he said. Violators face fines of up to $50,000 per incident and the possible termination of their agreement.

And then there were these sample comments that caught this author's attention, see what you think?

"We share the community's anger and concern", Suntha said. Investigation needs to be done and heads need to roll!' It has been documented extensively in other places in the U.S., including in Los Angeles, where the practice was the subject of a 60 Minutes expose, ten years ago. They are not a homeless shelter or drug treatment centers...' But the discharge policies can differ by hospital and the practice of hospital dumping persists. This is what for profit healthcare looks like'.
