The reaction to Greitens' confession this week has so far been mixed, with some calling on the Republican governor to resign over the more egregious blackmail allegation and others stating their support in the wake of his apology.

Several people behind the scenes wanted us to be first on television with the story of an alleged affair involving Greitens before he became governor. Greitens denied claims that he took nude photos of her and threatened to release them publicly if she disclosed the relationship. The report also alleged that Greitens' tried to blackmail the woman he was involved with in order for her to keep quiet about the sexual encounter.

Greitens later addressed the subject of blackmail in a statement sent by his attorney to BuzzFeed News.

After KMOV released their report, the governor's lawyer refuted the claim that Greitens attempted to blackmail the woman in a statement sent to BuzzFeed News.

According to KMOV, the tape exhibited a dialogue between the ex-husband and the woman, in which she admitted the affair.

St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner announced Thursday that she planned to launch a criminal investigation into the accusations. Once the governor released a public statement the papers pushed ahead with their stories.

Bennett said neither Eric nor Sheena Greitens would take questions about the matter Wednesday night. (Whew!) And now, if you'll excuse us, my husband is going to resume attacking other people's families - excuse me, he's going to get out there and defend "family values".

In it, she can be heard telling how Greitens invited her to his home in 2015.

Carillion could enter administration on Monday unless United Kingdom backs rescue
Carillion added that it was in dialogue about securing short-term financing "while the longer-term discussions are continuing". A spokeswoman for Carillion said it met creditors on Wednesday but would not comment on reports of further talks.

She goes on to say that she was frightened and unsure how to react. There was no blackmail and that claim is false. He barely hid his higher ambitions and reserved the web address ericgreitensforpresident.com years ago.

Sheena, who serve as an assistant professor at the University of Missouri, attended Stanford University, where she graduated with a B.A.in political science, and Oxford University, where she studied as a Marshall Scholar. "The outrageous claims of improper conduct regarding these nearly three-year-ago events are a lie". "I want the media and those who wish to peddle gossip to stay away from me and my children.' Now we know who has been peddling that gossip".

Eric Greitens (R) and his wife Sheena admitted in a joint statement on Wednesday that he engaged in an affair before he was elected to office. "I just feel like we need to have an investigation done on it and move forward", says Libla.

During his 2016 campaign Mr Greitens, an ex-Navy Seal, billed himself as a family man. "It was a deeply personal mistake".

"My knowledge and my experience leads me to believe that at least, there is an elevated degree of interest in what is going on", Watkins said.

Missouri Governor Eric Greitens, who was elected in 2016 after running freakish ads that essentially fetishized gunfire (like the Dan Bilzerian of politicos), has already found himself in a public relations nightmare.

Republican Sens. Doug Libla of Poplar Bluff and Gary Romine of Farmington both asked Attorney General Josh Hawley to investigate the allegations, which come as the 2018 legislative session is getting underway.
