During a press conference on Wednesday, President Donald Trump continued deriding the Russian Federation investigation as a "Democrat hoax" and claimed it "hurt" the United States government.

At a joint press conference with Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg, Trump stuck to his main talking point about the investigation, that "there is no collusion" between his campaign and Russian agents.

Pressed on the topic, Mr Trump said it "seems unlikely" that the interview would occur, given the lack of evidence to support claims of collusion.

Donald Trump has responded to questions about a possible interview with the special counsel Robert Mueller by attacking his former campaign rival, Hillary Clinton.

Trump's lawyers have previously stated their determination to cooperate with Mueller's requests.

In case you weren't counting - and I was - Trump uses the exact phrase "no collusion" seven times in that answer.

Trump said he would "100 percent" be willing to share his version of the encounter with Comey under oath.

The Department of Justice, headed by Attorney General Jeff Sessions, reopened the investigation on January 4.

He also called it a "Democrat hoax that was brought up as an excuse for losing an election that, frankly, the Democrats should have won because they have such a tremendous advantage in the Electoral College". "It has been determined there was no collusion".

The president has repeatedly used the phrase "no collusion" in response to questions about the ongoing Russian Federation investigation - 16 times in 30 minutes during an interview with the New York Times at his golf course in Florida late last month. So far, four individuals in Trump's orbit have been charged as part of Mueller's investigation - former campaign chairman Paul Manafort, former campaign adviser and longtime Manafort associate Rick Gates, early foreign-policy adviser George Papadopoulos, and former national security adviser Michael Flynn. When Karl followed up to ask if he would do so with the special counsel, the president said he "would be glad to tell him exactly what I just told you".
