Local DACA recipients looking to legislators to pass 'Clean Dream Act'

Guest column: Why a fix for DACA is imperative Key GOP senator: Immigration talks are 'at an impasse'

NPR's Kelsey Snell has more from Capitol Hill. They say they don't want a government shutdown either, but they do want an immigration bill this month. And the dynamics could even flip the conventional wisdom that the party controlling the federal government will get blamed for a shutdown, particularly since Donald Trump is nearly certainly spoiling for a fight. The Democrats are really looking at something that is very unsafe for our country.

"It's the federal government's responsibility to establish immigration laws that work for American families while welcoming those wanting to become law-abiding citizens of the United States", he said. It is also a fact that CIS, FAIR, NumbersUSA, IRLI and CAPS have direct ties to white nationalists, want to end all immigration, and are threatening the wellbeing of myself and other Dreamers in order to enact a radical anti-immigrant agenda.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell this week insisted the idea that a battle with Democrats over DACA's inclusion in the year-end bill would spur a shutdown was "ridiculous".

Despite little support for amnesty for illegal aliens, Democrats, the Republican establishment, the cheap labor industry, big business and the open borders lobby have teamed up to relentlessly push for legalizing up to 3.5 million illegal aliens who are on the DACA rolls or eligible for DACA. In 2012, then-President Barack Obama introduced the Deferred Action for Children Arrivals (DACA), a policy that stopped any move to deport an estimated 800,000 individuals and allowed them to apply for work permits. So it's not surprising congressional Democrats would really like to get protection for Dreamers as part of the price Republicans pay for getting their cooperation on must-pass spending legislation. Earlier this year, FAIR's President Dan Stein said that Americans "would be perfectly fine if we didn't have another immigrant for 50 years". But activists and many Democrats are specific. A Politico/Morning Consult poll also conducted in September found that 54% of voters want Congress to establish a path to citizenship for the Dreamers. "I grew up here, I don't remember where I'm from, and I think that the U.S.is my home country".

"We need to do this".

Instagram Direct is the pure Snapchat clone you've been waiting for
The only real downside is you'll have to install two apps to get the same functionality that's now present in one app. But as long as Direct is a part of Instagram , expanding the platform would get increasingly hard for the company.

Sens. Kamala Harris of California and Bernie Sanders of Vermont have been extremely outspoken on the issue, repeatedly asserting their opposition to any spending bill that neglects Dreamers.

As the December 8 shutdown deadline approaches, the Senate is expected to vote on a short-term stopgap spending bill Friday that would keep the government funded until December 22.

Threatening my safety and almost 800,000 Dreamers like myself in exchange for a "deal" that includes a 50 percent reduction to annual immigration levels, a dramatic ramp up of enforcement amounting to a deportation force that will devastate our economy, separate families and swoop up our coworkers and neighbors who enrich our lives, is not compassionate nor reasonable.
