"And I think it would be nice for you guys to do so as well before asking your questions". Two reporters gave thanks for the First Amendment, while another pointed out how he was thankful for the upcoming birth of a child while further noting that he was glad he went to MI rather than Ohio State.

The White House press corp trolled White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Monday after she demanded that each reporter say what in their life they are thankful for before they were allowed to ask a question.

Leading by example, Sanders listed her family, faith, and military members before pivoting to the reporters in the room.

Most reporters played along.

"If you want to ask a question, I think it's only fair since I've shared what I'm thankful for, that you start off with what you're thankful for", said a smiling Sanders.

"I'm thankful for the First Amendment", she said, before inquiring the official White House position on the sexual assault and pedophilia allegations against Senate candidate Roy Moore, drawing audible cheers from the rest of the group. "I hope you feel the passion of my thankfulness".

Taylor Swift's 'Reputation' Sells More Than 1 Million Copies in 4 Days
Her albums " Red " and " Speak Now " each sold 1.21 and 1.05 million copies when they released in 2012 and 2010, respectively. That distinction still belongs to her hit album, "1989", which sold 1.29 million copies in its first week in 2014.

When Ryan followed up on her question about North Korea, Huckabee Sanders interrupted, "I'm starting to regret calling on you first".

The White House, too, has publicly waffled on whether to continue the tradition of a regular, on-camera press briefing and has regularly shot down journalists' questions by implying that they're somehow acting inappropriately by asking for comments on high-profile news stories.

Others, like Ryan, gave slightly sarcastic yet serious responses that poked fun at Sanders' request and mocked the fact that they had to say what they were thankful for before doing their job.

Meanwhile, Sanders' odd exercise during the White House press briefing triggered a slew of brutal and mocking comments and memes on Twitter.

"Yeah, we're part of it though", American Urban Radio Networks correspondent and CNN contributor April Ryan countered. I'm thankful for my children.

Other reporters did seem to enjoy the exercise, with the BBC's Jon Sopel saying it should be a daily requirement at the White House press briefing.
