Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with his Japanese, Australian and Vietnamese counterparts on the sidelines of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit on Tuesday and held key bilateral talks with them.
United States President Donald Trump was among those who attended the summit.
At Tuesday's summit, the APT leaders adopted the Manila Declaration on the 20th Anniversary of ASEAN Plus Three Cooperation which sets the direction and priorities of the cooperation in the coming years.
In an address at the ASEAN-China summit, Mr. Li said his country was committed to strengthen ties with the 10-member grouping amid mounting concerns by several countries of the bloc over growing Chinese assertiveness in the South China Sea.
The ASEAN said it will enhance cooperation with its dialogue partners like India and the U.S., as well as relevant agencies and organisations at regional and global levels, such as EUROPOL, and the Interpol among others, to enhance cyberspace security.
Noting that China and ASEAN announced plans to begin the next step of consultation on the text of a code of conduct in the South China Sea on Monday, Li said this shows a willingness from both China and ASEAN countries to properly handle differences through consultation and maintain peace and stability for the South China Sea.
On Sunday, India, Australia, Japan and the U.S. held their first meeting to give shape to the much talked about quadrilateral alliance to keep the Indo-Pacific region "free and open".
The East Asia Summit is a forum held annually by leaders of 18 countries including ASEAN nations India, the U.S. and Russian Federation.
Prime Minister Modi also called for concerted efforts by countries of region to deal with terrorism and extremism.

Investment from Asean to India has been over $70 billion in the last 17 years, accounting for more than 17% of India's total foreign direct investment.
