In one of the highest profile licensing deals made by a Hollywood studio in decades, Illumination Entertainment have nearly sealed the deal make the animated movie. Universal Studios is planning on opening a sizeable Nintendo-themed section of their theme parks sometime in the next few years.
The Super Mario Brothers series has shifted over 330 million units total for Ninitendo in the years since it first landed on consoles in the 1980s, so it's no surprise that a new film is in the offing.
