Patient Sweats Blood, Diagnosed With Rare Condition

An analysis of victim's skin didn't give an abnormal report, as the researchers reported in the Canadian Medical Association Journal.

Tests uncovered her blood check and thickening capacities were ordinary and she was determined to have hematohidrosis, a condition so uncommon a few specialists don't think about it.

"There was no obvious trigger for the bleeding, which could occur while she was asleep and during times of physical activity".

A woman amazed her doctors after showing them her blood condition, something they had heard about before but never had the opportunity to study.

"Our patient has been socially isolated as she is ashamed of her condition, with the result that she has developed symptoms of panic attacks and major depressive episodes", the two doctors said, clarifying that the 21-year-old had symptoms for three years before taking medical assistance.

A young woman who has a rare condition that causes her to constantly sweat blood from her hands and face has left medical experts perplexed.

The woman's identity has been kept confidential for the sake of her privacy.

The patient has since been administered a heart and blood pressure med that has cut down - though not eliminated - her bleeding. Some people with the condition even cry bloody tears. She found that nearly of half of that items were from the last five years.

Despite the fact that this is an extremely rare condition, it's not new. That's not an exaggeration; she literally sweats blood. Cases date way back to the third century BC, TIME quotes medical historian and hematologist Jacalyn Duffin as saying.

Italian dermatologists report the case of a woman with an unusual disorder: a tendency to sweat blood in a kind of modern-day stigmata.

The patient, a 21-year-old woman, sweats blood.

However, there are still other doctors who do not know about the existence of "blood sweating", and none of them knows exactly why it happens.

"In the literature, there is no single explanation of the source of bleeding in hematohidrosis".

However, it is thought that with increased anxiety, the blood vessels that surround the sweat glands constrict to the point of rupture, which push it to the surface of the skin alongside sweat.
