Samsung's next flagship smartphone, presumably dubbed the Galaxy S9, will likely feature a 3D sensor-equipped front camera offering improved facial recognition capabilities, a new report said on Thursday. The smartphone comes in two colour variants - Metallic Gold and Absolute Black. To purchase the device, customers can visit the network providers, MTN, Airtel, Etisalat and GLO; Samsung Experience Stores, and select retail partners nationwide. Going by the price, the smartphone will face competition from Xiaomi Redmi 4 and the Nokia 5.

Upfront, the Galaxy J2 (2017) features a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED display with qHD (540 x 960 pixels) display. Under the hood is an unknown chipset with a 1.3GHz quad-core processor. It has 8GB of inbuilt storage space and can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.

The J2 comes with a 5MP back camera with an LED flash and there is a 2MP front camera and there is no flash on the front.

Measuring 136.5 x 69.0 x 8.4mm, the smartphone weighs 130 grams. It is backed by a 2000mAh removable battery which Samsung claims can lasts up to 9 hours on LTE, 41 hours of playback time, and 12 hours of talktime. In terms of connectivity, the dual-SIM smartphone offers 4G, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.1 and USB 2.0.

There is still roughly a whole year left before the next iteration of Samsung's Galaxy Note series will launch, but there are already talks about what features it might bring. The Galaxy Tab A comes in a metal-clad design with smooth edges and sports an 8-inch display with 1280x800p resolution. For storage, the device offers 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM (of which 9.7GB is available).

The 4G Logo on the display also matches the one found on T-Mobiles handsets, while AT&T has a slightly rounded one.
