His comments came days after the state government informed the Supreme Court that its police had conducted a "thorough investigation" into the conversion of a Hindu woman to Islam and her subsequent marriage to a Muslim man and did not find material warranting the transfer of probe to the NIA. The cases involve marriages of men and women of three faiths - Hindu, Christian and Islam.

When the advocate for the yoga centre argued that Sruthi's marriage was a case of love jihad, the court said "Don't say love jihad in every here and there, " The Indian Express reports.

The state police have referred over 94 inter-faith marriage cases to NIA. Both also specified that they were not coerced.

The government told the top court that the claims made by the National Investigation Agency that there was a "pattern" in the way religious conversions were taking place in Kerala were false. She said that she had been influenced by Zakir Naik videos and after observing her Muslim friends, she converted to Islam.

As told by a source, the other woman had eloped with a Muslim man and converted herself to Islam to the nuptial knot with him.

The role of Malappuram Sainaba A.S, president of PFI's women's wing, the National Women's Front (NWF) is being probed in the Athira and Hadiya cases.

Ashokan K M had alleged that PFI activists forced his daughter Akhila Asokan to convert and take the name of Hadiya.

"Yogi Adityanath spoke of "love jihad" in Kerala... this court should know the ground ground realities", Dave had said, adding that Shah had also visited Kerala. The NIA is likely to await directions from the court as the case involves conversion for the objective of terror.

Later, the High Court annulled the marriage, terming it a case of "love-jihad" and sent the woman back to her father's cutody.

Kerala High Court observes- "all inter-religious marriages can not be termed love jihad", while hearing a matter on Tuesday.
