Giroud makes final Puskas Award shortlist

Voting for the victor concludes on October 23, with the prize awarded that evening during The Best FIFA Football Awards in London.

The 31-year-old is up against teenager Deyna Castellanos and goalkeeper Oscarine Masuluke for the "most attractive goal of the season" after his strike against Crystal Palace in January.

The South African will be up against goals from Olivier Giroud (Arsenal) and Deyna Castellanos (Venezuela Women's U17) for this year's Puskas Award.

Previous winners of the award include Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, James Rodriguez and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The Puskas Award - named after legendary Real Madrid and Hungary striker Ferenc Puskas - has shined a light on lesser-known players with Mohd Faiz Subri of Malaysian club Penang the reigning champion.

Giroud faces competition from Venezuela women's team starlet Deyna Castellanos and Baroka goalkeeper Oscarine Masuluke with the victor announced at the London Palladium Theatre on October 23.
