The Dominican Republic offers its good services, the country invited both opposition and Nicolas Maduro government 's representative to explore the possibility of resuming talks that should be critically important on resolving the country's political crisis.

United Nations secretary-general Antonio Guterres said he fully supports the call for a new round of talks between the government and opposition.

Following a meeting between Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian announced in a communique from his office, reported by EFE, the participation of sectors of the Venezuelan opposition in these tables of dialogue.

One of the opposition delegates, Julio Borges, warned Wednesday that a formal dialogue would only be possible if Maduro accepted the opposition's conditions and if there was global involvement.

Jorge Rodriguez said prior to the meeting that he believed a resolution to "critical points between the opposition and President Nicolas Maduro" was very close. In an official statement, the group said that although it would send a delegation to the meeting, it would not contemplate official dialogue with the government until it agreed to meet several of its demands.

He also expressed his approval for the peaceful proposal and welcomed the willingness of the national right to join that route of dialogue in order to guarantee the tranquility of Venezuelans.

"The invitation of President Danilo Medina does NOT represent the beginning of formal dialogue with the government".
