The Army killed two armed terrorists, as it foiled an infiltration bid near the Line of Control in the Machhal sector of north Kashmir's Kupwara district. The combing operation continued in the area till last reports came in.

Official sources in the army said that army's 45 RR posted at Gautam post in Machil found some suspicious movement in the wee hours of Saturday, and a gunfight ensued when the militants were challenged for their identity. "An infiltration bid has been foiled in Machhil sector and two terrorists have been killed", defence spokesman Colonel Rajesh Kalia said.
