The singer for the track, "Hands To Myself", revealed back in October of 2015 that she was diagnosed with lupus and was even going through chemotherapy sessions for the autoimmune disease. "So I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my Lupus and was recovering".

She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me.

Speaking to People magazine, the "Sorry Not Sorry" singer said: "I think that she is a very strong woman".

Gomez, 25, wrote that she was "very aware" that many of her fans noticed she was out of the public's eye for parts of the summer. "It was what I needed to do for my overall health". I am incredibly blessed.

Although Gomez has yet to make her adoption Instagram official, she has posted a video staring her puppy on her Instagram story, as has her friend, photographer Petra Collins.

Fellow hitmaker Lady Gaga, 31, sent her love and support to the star as she continued to recover after her best friend, the actress Francis Raisa, 29, donated one of her organs. I love you so much sis.

On Friday, Raisa's mom shared that both her daughter and Gomez are "doing great" since the transplant - and Raisa has returned to work.

Nick wished her well during a radio interview on SiriusXM's Hits 1 in Hollywood the same day, saying: 'I didn't [know she had gotten the surgery].

'That's just incredible, and the strength she's shown through all of that is inspiring, ' the 25-year-old gushed.
