JK Rowling faces backlash as unedited clip shows Trump greeting disabled child
02 August, 2017, 03:46
"Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling apologized for accusing President Trump in a series of tweets of not taking the hand of a disabled boy after seeing footage of a White House event where the chief executive appeared to ignore the child's outstretched hand.
Trump is said to have shaken the boy's hand as the president entered the room, the BBC reported. J.K. Rowling returned to Twitter to acknowledge her mistake of failing to check the original footage from the event.
"Multiple sources have informed me that that was not a full or accurate representation of their interaction", Ms. Rowling wrote on Twitter on Monday. Morgan called the accusation a "disgraceful lie". A viewing of the full video revealed that Trump had previously specifically sought out the child and fretted him. This is Trump greeting that boy. He paid attention to the child first and for a prolonged period of time.
It was her passion and determination only, which brought many laurels to her and in 2010, Rowling was named "Most Influential Woman in Britain" by a leading magazine editor.
The controversy began when Ansel Herz, a communications director for Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.), tweeted a short video of Trump seemingly ignoring a small boy in a wheelchair who was putting his hand out to greet the president.
Will Rowling apologise to The President personally and silencio Morgan? However, as explained by the Washington Post, the writer watched the incomplete version of the episode - in the video released by the White house shows that us President separately approached the boy and sat down specially to say Hello.

The way he described it was "somebody put in front of him a massive encyclopedia of all of time and he's only opened page one". But there could be a valid reason for Bran's freakish behavior, and for now, I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.
Trump clearly did not snub a disabled boy.
Other video has emerged showing Trump speaking to the child, and the boy's mother reportedly posted to Facebook to confirm that the president did not ignore her son.
"1) He's 3 and hand-shaking is not his thing".
In tweets since deleted, Rowling shared a clip appearing to show Trump ignoring the boy after he extends his hand toward him.
"How incredible and how terrible it is that Trump does not reach out to a boy who just wanted to touch the president", wrote J.K. Rowling on Twitter.
