The following matches are advertised for the WWEBattleground pay-per-view, which will be held on July 23 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at Wells Fargo Center.
Since Jinder Mahal is the reigning WWE Champion, the creative is trying hard to garner attention from the audience of the subcontinent and this confirmed match is bound to help them to a certain extent. SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon came out instead and said that he would grant another title match to Orton, but Mahal would get to pick the stipulation.
When Mahal and Orton battle it out in the bamboo cages, it will mark only the third time in history that this match has taken place.
The Great Khali was supposed to take part in the first ever Punjabi prison match against The Undertaker at Great American Bash 2006, but couldn't after failing to pass medical, as Big Show took his place.
