MonaLisa Perez, 19, was arrested Monday night after she fatally shot her boyfriend, 22-year-old Pedro Ruiz, in the chest while they were making a YouTube video at the couple's house in Norman County, not far from Fargo, North Dakota.

Ruiz thought the book would stop the bullet, and Perez says she agreed to the stunt after he showed her another book that had halted a bullet, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

The incident was captured on two cameras.

Ruiz was declared dead at the scene.

Witness: The couple's daughter, Aaliyah (pictured with Perez) was witness to the shooting, police said.

The Halstad woman accused of killing her boyfriend with a high-caliber gunshot to the chest at close range will make her first appearance on second-degree manslaughter charges in Norman County Court.

A detailed paper will then be published on Monday, Mr Davis confirmed. "And use the time in between to work on proposals and exchange them".

YouTube pranks have gone wrong before, but in the past it has usually been when young viewers attempt to replicate the stunts of YouTubers.

"We called him our little daredevil", said Lisa Primeau, who is the aunt of Ruiz, adding that she "pretty much raised" him after his mother died when he was 9.

'I wish they wouldn't have done it. "I wish he would've just done another prank", the victim's aunt, Claudia Ruiz, told WDAY-TV.

According to the criminal complaint, Perez told authorities that Ruiz had been trying to convince her "for a while" to perform the unsafe stunt that would ultimately end his life.

Claudia pleaded with Pedro not to use a real gun, insisting to him that it could cause serious harm. The second child, a boy, is expected to be born in the coming months. We want to get famous'.

It was a tragedy all while trying to reach YouTube fame.

She could face 10 years in prison, a $20,000 fine, or both.
