Experts warn of travel ban confusion

Sammy Stanley | 29 June, 2017, 08:57

The 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Virginia, said the ban was "rooted in religious animus" toward Muslims and pointed to Trump's campaign promise to impose a ban on Muslims entering the country as well as tweets and remarks he has made since becoming president.

The Supreme Court on Monday began the process of rebuking lower courts for usurping the political branches on national security.

Unlike previous years, the U.S. Supreme Court is not ending its term with landmark rulings, but instead, setting the stage for what will surely be a new term marked by life-changing decisions.

Foreign travelers in a "bona fide relationship" with a person or entity in the United States can get around the travel ban for now.

Trump issued the order amid rising worldwide concern about attacks carried out by Islamist militants like those in Paris, London, Brussels, Berlin and other cities.

What about refugees coming from places like Syria or other war-torn countries? The ban was supposed to last for 90 days, and was accompanied by a 120-day ban on refugee admissions.

The policy has caused some travel industry organizations, particularly the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA), to warn that it could harm inbound travel to the United States.

Are there still big questions?

"As it is imperative that the traveling public maintain confidence in an industry so vital to our nation's economy, we ask that the Administration set clear implementation guidelines in the interim so uncertainty, and the travel disruptions likely to result, are kept to an absolute minimum", ASTA said.

The American Civil Liberties Union welcomed the Supreme Court's decision to hear the case.

Trump also posted a tweet referring to the court's decision.

There are 'no plans' to bring the Honor 9 to the US
It is unknown at the moment whether Russian Federation will receive other color variants of the Honor 9 . Despite the change in tack, the camera still operates in a similar way to its predecessors' snapper.

When does this take effect?

The court offered only broad guidelines about what would constitute such a relationship - suggesting it would include a close relative, a job offer or an invitation to lecture.

"Groups like ISIS (the Islamic State group) and Al-Qaeda seek to sow chaos and destruction in our country, and often operate from war-torn and failed countries", he said.

Is this a win for Trump?

The U.S. Supreme Court said Monday that President Donald Trump's travel ban on visitors from.

The March 6 order called for a 90-day ban on travellers from Libya, Iran, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen and a 120-day ban on all refugees entering United States to enable the government to implement stronger vetting procedures. The next day, as protests rang, a judge in NY blocked a portion of the ban.

Some Justices might not agree with that, but it's notable that Chief Justice John Roberts managed to corral a unanimous Court for lifting almost all of the injunctions.

The ban has been in and out of the court systems since its inception January 27.

In a statement issued soon after the court's decision, Trump said: "Today's unanimous Supreme Court decision is a clear victory for our national security".

Is this a final ruling, then?

"The court went out of its way to not tip its hand as to how it will rule on the ultimate issue, which is whether the president has the power to do this".
