Jeb Bush is no longer interested in buying the Miami Marlins and has ended his participation in sales talks, a source familiar with the negotiations told CBS4 News. The Romney/Glavine group also reportedly includes ex-Diamondbacks general manager Dave Stewart, who would likely have a role in baseball operations.

Without Bush spearheading the bids, the AP reports, Tagg Romney, one of former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's sons, has become the front-runner to purchase the team, which had reportedly garnered offers of around $1.3 billion.

That would be quite the return on investment for current owner Jeffrey Loria, who purchased the team for just more than $158 million in 2002.

Jeb Bush reacts as he announces the suspension of his presidential campaign at an election night party at the Hilton Columbia Center in Columbia, SC on February 20, 2016.

'Given the interest we have inside Miami and among people that are potential partners, I'm really excited about it, ' Bush said in early May.

Real Madrid head to Celta Vigo on Wednesday night looking to push themselves ahead of rivals Barcelona in the battle for the LaLiga title.

The potential sale of the Miami Marlins took a step back Tuesday with former Florida Gov.

The commissioner's office wants the purchasing group to demonstrate it has enough cash both to close the deal and operate the team.

David Samson, the Marlins president, did not return a message for comment. Sources said the Jeter-Bush group approached prospective buyers from other groups about joining forces with them.

Bush, 64, served two terms as governor from 1999-2007. Romney, 47, has been a MA businessman, venture capitalist and political adviser.
